Rotating Equipment Operation & Maintenance

BACKGROUND:

Rotating equipment is commonly used in the industry & plays a vital role in end-to-end production operations. Hence, mastering the principles of rotating equipment is very essential. Identification of failure modes & monitoring methods of failure symptoms are important as well, for establishing the most effective maintenance program.

This course begins with discussing the definition of rotating equipment, their types, and their primary functions, as well as the general characteristics of rotating equipment concerning their performance. Then, a detailed discussion on primary rotating equipment: pumps, compressors, turbines & fans/blowers. The discussion includes the classification for each type, the performance characteristics, and the frequent failure modes. This training will also cover alignment & balancing and predictive maintenance for rotating equipment

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Refresh about functions & general characteristics of rotating equipment
  • Understand the classification and the performance characteristics of pumps, compressors, turbines and fans/blowers.
  • Able to evaluate the performance of rotating equipment
  • Able to identify the anomalies and the failure modes of rotating equipment
  • Able to conduct alignment & balancing
  • Able to implement proper predictive maintenance for rotating equipment

ABOUT THE COURSE LEADER:

Cecep Slamet Abadi, ST., MT adalah salah satu associate instructor di FJM dengan latar belakang Pendidikan Teknik Mesin untuk jenjang S1 & S2.

Selain aktif sebagai dosen sejak tahun 1996, beliau juga memiliki pangalaman dalam bidang industry & konsultan di antaranya di LAPI ITB, Puslitbang Air, PINDAD, Audit Energi di Pertamina EP Pangkalan Susu, Tambung & Rengasdengklok, serta sebagai team uji kompetensi si IATKI (Ikatan Ahli Ketenagalistrikan Indonesia).
