Proactive Maintenance
BACKGROUND:
Proactive maintenance is a maintenance strategy that aims to identify and fix the reasons for equipment failure before it happens. The goal of proactive maintenance is to increase asset reliability and reduce the risk of downtime.
Wear and tear is a normal part of equipment life cycles. However, a solid proactive maintenance strategy can extend the lifespan of assets and improve performance. Proactive maintenance reduces maintenance and operational costs by addressing hidden operational inefficiencies. Equipment operating in good condition uses less energy than machines near the point of breakdown. Wear and tear negatively impact output as well.

Ir. Deddy Nugraha is a senior Rotating Engineer & Asset Reliability Specialist. Graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department, ITB (1990), & had advanced training in France and USA, for Gas turbine maintenance and repair. He has extensive experience in RCA & troubleshooting for Turbomachinery Equipment, also Reliability philosophy and SERIP instructor in Chevron- Riau. He is general secretary for Indonesian Reliability Society (ISR) and KMI.
Many consulting works have been conducted including in PT. Indonesia Power (Tambak Loro, Suralaya, Perak), PT. IPMOMI Paiton, and, PT. PGN SBU TSJ and PT. Pertamina Gas, PT. HKS Humpus, and PT.
