BACKGROUND:
The reliable operation of medium voltage (MV) electric switchgear and power circuit breakers is critical for ensuring the safety and efficiency of electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings. These components play a pivotal role in protecting equipment from faults and maintaining uninterrupted power distribution. However, improper handling, maintenance, or failure to adhere to best practices can lead to operational downtime, equipment damage, and safety hazards.
This 3-day training program is designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of MV electric switchgear and power circuit breakers. From understanding operational principles to mastering maintenance techniques and troubleshooting, the program ensures that participants gain the skills necessary to enhance system reliability and safety.
OBJECTIVES:
The purpose of this course is to develop a thorough understanding of MV Electric Switchgear, Power Circuit Breaker as well as the overall capabilities of MV Electric Switchgear for Electrical Engineer. Class room discussion and problem-solving has been designed to provide the analytical techniques necessary to solve a wide variety of practical problem Electric Switchgear, in the course participant will:
- Learn and get better understanding the overview of the Electrical Power Systems
- Learn and get better understanding the electric and mechanic system in MV switchgear
- Learn and better understanding the types of electric MV switchgear and its arc and fire extinguisher
- Be able to calculate of the electric arc and spark in fault condition of electrical power system

Ir. Ali Mashar, M.Eng.Sc., IPU graduated from New South Wales University (UNSW) Sydney Australia. His core expertise is power and control or electrical engineering. He used to be head Energy Conversion Engineering of Politeknik ITB (POLBAN) and lecturer. He is also head of Laboratory of energy engineering PEDC.
Ali Mashar has delivered in-house & public training classes since 2010 covering specific topics on electrical & control system, energy conservation. Companies where he shares his expertise are local & multinational companies such as: Indonesia Power, Pemda Papua, PT. Badak, Cogindo, Star Energi, Chevron, Freeport and some others.
Other than teaching he has done many real projects related to power generation and many energy audits.
