Mastering Production Sharing Contract (PSC) & Project Economics

This course is designed so that participants can have more interactive discussions with the instructor. This two-day intensive course provides the participants with a comprehensive understanding of Production Sharing Contracts (PSC) and explain what makes Indonesian PSC different from global PSC. The discussion focus on the main difference among the global upstream petroleum contracts (royalty & taxes, production sharing contract and service contract), the impact of type of upstream petroleum contract on booking reserves/entitlement, “quick count” approach to compare the fiscal attractiveness, Pros & Cons of PSC Gross Split & Cost Recovery, PSC cash flow modelling, the trend and the future of upstream petroleum contract and specifics issued raised by workshop participants.
The participants are expected to be able to evaluate and understand the impact of recent government policies in upstream oil & gas sector. In addition to that the effective negotiation to balance Contractor and Government interests to achieve mutual benefit will also be discussed.

About the instructor:
Benny Lubiantara was Deputy of Exploration, Development & Working Area Management, SKK Migas (Des 2022 – Jan 2025), Deputy of Planning, SKK Migas (Jul 2021- Des 2022). Vice President (VP) of Planning, on assignment in The Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources. Previous roles in SKK Migas, include: Head of Division for
Technology & Field Development, Expert Staff for The Chairman of the SKK Migas, Head of Division for Work Program & Management.
He was a Petroleum Fiscal Policy Analyst, Research Division, OPEC Secretariat in Vienna, Austria for seven years (2006 – 2013). He obtained Petroleum Engineering Degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Bachelor in Economics, and Master in Management both from Universitas Indonesia. He completed “Program Pendidikan Reguler Angkatan (PPRA) – 55”, Lemhannas RI in 2016.
