Safety Engineering in Design
BACKGROUND:
Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk memberikan peserta pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai safety engineering dalam perancangan atau tahap design (safety engineering in design). Pada bagian awal pelatihan ini akan dibahas istilah-istilah dalam safety engineering seperti hazard, danger, risk, dan sebagainya.
Process design, engineering drawing, serta protection layer dalam safety engineering akan dibahas satu persatu dalam pelatihan ini. Berbagai teknik untuk mengidentifikasi bahaya pada safety engineering dalam design – HAZID, HAZOPS, FTA, dan ETA – juga akan dibahas.
Dengan mengikuti pelatihan ini, para peserta akan mendapatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai safety engineering dalam perancangan secara menyeluruh sehingga dapat diciptakan sistem operasional yang secara safety juga dapat diandalkan (bukan hanya keandalan engineering & biaya saja).
OBJECTIVES:
- Memahami prinsip dasar Safety Engineering dan penerapannya dalam desain sistem dan fasilitas industri.
- Mengintegrasikan aspek keselamatan ke dalam proses desain untuk mengurangi risiko sejak tahap awal proyek.
- Meningkatkan kemampuan dalam mengidentifikasi hazard dan mengevaluasi risiko selama proses desain.
- Memahami konsep inherently safer design untuk menciptakan sistem yang secara alami lebih aman.
- Mengaplikasikan alat dan metode analisis seperti HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), dan Event Tree Analysis (ETA) untuk mengevaluasi keselamatan desain secara menyeluruh.
- Merancang kontrol keselamatan, seperti barriers dan safeguards, untuk mencegah kecelakaan.
- Menerapkan studi kasus dan pengalaman nyata untuk memahami tantangan dan solusi terbaik dalam Safety Engineering in Design.

- Engineering Drawing in Design: Process flow diagram/ PFD, piping & instrument diagram/ P&ID
- Basic Process Control System/ BPCS: Process control loops, measuring element, controller, final control element
- Safety Instrumentation System/ SIS: Sensor, logic solver, the final element, safety integrity level / SIL

ABOUT THE COURSE LEADER:
Mr. Jumanda, a dedicated lecturer, has conducted nearly 280 training sessions (both public and in-house) for various industries, with a strong focus on oil and gas companies since 1997. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Institute Technology Bandung. In addition, he has completed nine specialized courses in the oil and gas sector at PETEX (Petroleum Extension), University of Texas at Austin, in Houston, Texas, USA, in 2018.
Apart from his formal education, Mr. Jumanda possesses numerous professional certifications. These include a Lecturer Certificate from the Indonesian Minister of Education, Construction, Electrical, and Fire Protection Certificates from the HSE Association Indonesia.
