BACKGROUND:
Financial Technology (FinTech) is expanding into businesses in the form of a combination of new innovations in information technology and financial services.
Fintech was created with the aim of providing convenience & efficiency for the community, including groups of people who never be in touch with conventional banking access. In Indonesia, the adoption of fintech has shown developments in various sectors. Those range from online lending, personal finance, financing, remittances, retail investment, crowd funding, insurtech, and so on.
Every month, the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) has successfully recorded so many entities that are official drivers in the Financial Technology (FinTech) sectors. The number of companies that are mostly engaged in peer-to-peer lending continues to grow over time. The potential of the Indonesian market with 133 million internet users. It is 26 times of Singapore, why many investors tend to invest in Indonesia in the Fintech sector.
In addition, in the era of the digital economy in Indonesia, there is currently a shift and change in business behavior that is focused on the Millennial Generations. Moreover, the millennial generation has a big influence in the future to change all aspects from politics, culture, to business activities. Behind that, they are a gold mine for businesses that are able to understand the characteristics, nature, needs, and habits that are different from this generation compared to the previous generation.
