Open Process Control (OPC) Server

BACKGROUND:

OPC is a published industrial standard for system interconnectivity. It uses Microsoft’s COM and DCOM technology to enable applications to exchange data on one or more computers using a client/server architecture.  OPC defines a common set of interfaces. So applications retrieve data in exactly the same format regardless of whether the data source is a PLC, DCS, gauge, analyzer, software application or anything else. As a result, OPC is as an out-of-the-box, plug and play communication solution. Provide a standards-based infrastructure for the exchange of process control data this leads to different connection type (serial, radio, Ethernet, etc) and various operating systems. In industrial automation systems:
